Warm salad with fried cheese

Photo: from open sources

Salad is perhaps the most diverse type of appetizer due to the ability to vary ingredients and dressings.

In the summer, we even prefer cold soups, for example, okroshka or gazpacho, but in the cold season everything is exactly the opposite – we even choose warm salads. These salads are good on their own for breakfast or dinner.

Suggested warm salad with potatoes and cheese. A good addition to this salad would be a couple of slices of boiled pork or pastrami.

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200 g Imeretian cheese
  • 200 g potatoes
  • 200 g Chinese cabbage
  • 100 g cherry tomato
  • 1 pod bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon French mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • vegetable oil
  • ground black pepper
  • salt

Preparation:

  1. Pass the peeled garlic through a press, add 30 ml of vegetable oil and mix.
  2. Wash the potatoes well, dry without peeling, cut into slices, salt, pepper, sprinkle with ground paprika and Italian herbs, pour in oil and garlic and bake until tender at 200°C.
  3. Peel the bell pepper from the stalk and seeds, grease with vegetable oil and bake for 20 minutes at 200°C, then, without peeling, cut into strips.
  4. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, sprinkle with vegetable oil and bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Cut the Chinese cabbage into strips and fry in vegetable oil for 5 minutes.
  6. Cut the cheese into small slices 0.5-0.7 cm thick and quickly fry on both sides until golden brown.
  7. To make the dressing, combine French mustard with lemon juice, add 30 ml of vegetable oil and mix gently.
  8. Place a bed of Chinese cabbage on the bottom of a warmed serving dish, top it with baked potatoes, then bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, fried cheese, and top with dressing.

On a note

Italian herbs can be replaced with any favorite seasoning, and Imeretian cheese can be replaced with any pickled cheese: suluguni, Adyghe, feta, mozzarella or feta cheese.

To make the salad really warm, roast all the vegetables at the same time, placing the potatoes in the oven first, then the bell peppers and lastly the cherry tomatoes.

You can diversify a warm salad by adding fried mushrooms, green beans, green peas, pickles and herbs.
