Understand when this habit began

If a person buys a lot of fancy clothes and cosmetics, but every day he dresses in the same ordinary suit and rushes to work without makeup, it is worth seriously thinking about what you really want to buy: clothes or hope for a better future.

You should understand what this habit compensates for the lack of. For example, watching TV series until late at night can provide the opportunity to be alone, new experiences, the illusion of communication and a sense of security.

Motives

You should consider how the need can be met more constructively. Instead of eating away at problems, demanding pleasure, you can find this feeling next to loved ones.

You should allow yourself to be sincere, open, and thereby strengthen your relationship.

The usual alternative is not enough. It is important to include discipline and behavior modification.

“When you catch yourself unwrapping the fifth candy, ask the question sincerely: “Am I doing this because I want support and understanding, do I lack love and care?” says the psychologist.

It’s worth stopping yourself gently every time without criticism. However, it will take a lot of discipline.

According to the expert, new useful habits are formed over time; at first there may be strong temptations and mistakes. Continue, move forward confidently, every step is very important.

“Don’t forget that change is a process, not a one-time event. Be patient and determined, then everything will definitely work out,” the specialist added.
