How genetics and proper care affect hair growth and condition

According to Yulia, genetics directly affects the number of hair follicles, color, shape and phase of hair growth.

You need to know that with each new life of a hair unit, its growth phase will be shorter than the previous one. But we can maintain this process and have a healthy density with proper care and lifestyle. But proper care can 100% help you let go of length. The trichologist says that this has already been proven.

“Proper trichological care for the scalp and hair shaft gives a very powerful result. What does long hair need?

According to the trichologist, hair always loves moisture, so we focus on this. Use lipid low molecular weight masks in your home care once a week, covering them with balms with a slightly acidic pH, use the same balms after each wash.

“Long hair is very easy to mechanically injure, so the comb should have very flexible teeth. Use only professional hair dryers for home care (choose high air power and medium temperature mode). Always apply leave-in treatment not only to the ends, but to the entire length, what is below the ear line,” the specialist advises.

5 basic rules for growing long hair

  • Don’t skimp on shampoo. Remember that this is the product that comes into contact with the skin and the microbiome that inhabits its surface. Healthy skin means healthy hair.
  • Minimize exposure to high temperatures; it is better to let your hair dry on its own.
  • Do not wear your bath towel on your head for a long time. It is very heavy and its weight causes wet hair to stretch and break. It is better to buy a terry turban – it is very light, so there will be no injury.
