Thai cod soup: a simple recipe

You only need 50 minutes to prepare this soup.

Cod is a very tasty fish. Not many people know that you can make a delicious and rather exotic soup from it, the main thing is to follow the recipe exactly.

Recipe

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g cod fillet without skin and bones
  • 2 shallots
  • 20 g fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp. coriander seeds
  • 0.5 tsp. turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp. black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp. salt
  • 1 liter fish broth
  • 2 tbsp. l. lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. l. cane sugar
  • 1/4 head of cabbage
  • 100 g asparagus
  • 2 medium sized onions
  • fresh coriander (finely chopped)

Preparation:

  1. Finely chop the shallots, ginger and garlic and grind in a blender with coriander, turmeric, salt and pepper.
  2. Add the mixture to the hot fish broth, adding lemon juice and cane sugar. Simmer covered for about 20-30 minutes.
  3. Cut the cod into cubes, cabbage into strips, green beans into large pieces, onion into thin rings. Add to the broth and simmer over low heat until the fish and vegetables are completely cooked. Sprinkle fresh coriander on top of the soup.
