Microfiber helps remove dirt perfectly, and it simply absorbs water and leaves no marks.

Microfiber cloths are quite comfortable and easy to use. Therefore, they have long been part of our daily lives. They are used in the kitchen, for cleaning homes or washing cars. However, microfiber is not effective everywhere.

Microfiber cloths: what are the benefits?

Microfiber helps remove dirt perfectly, and it simply absorbs water and leaves no marks. Microfiber cloths are of good quality and do not pollute the environment. After all, they can be used without the need to add additional cleaning chemicals.

Microfiber cloths also last a long time, and most can be washed and reused. This means they are less likely to end up in the trash than other cleaning products.

Where should microfiber cloths not be used?

Microfiber should be used with caution when cleaning glass or mirrors, because there is a high chance of leaving microcracks on the surface, which will subsequently ruin the appearance of the item.

If you really want to use microfiber, experts advise taking napkins made of non-woven material. It will help prevent the appearance of microcracks. If you don’t have these on hand, it’s better to replace them with a soft cloth and an alcohol-based solution.

A microfiber cloth is not at all suitable for the following surfaces:

  • mirror;
  • glossy facade or varnish coating;
  • presence of precious metals;
  • made of copper or silver;
  • plastic (including glasses with plastic lenses);
  • wooden, oiled.

Microfiber cloths have an abrasive effect on several edges, so using them is akin to working with very fine sandpaper. They may leave scratches that may not be noticeable at first, but will later cause the surface to become dull.

How to properly clean with a microfiber cloth

It is not recommended to use such cleaning wipes dry. Before cleaning any surface, they need to be wet, but not too much. If too much water accumulates in the microfiber fibers, it will not be able to absorb dirt. It is also not advisable to use warm water.

When moving over the surface, you should not press too hard, because dirt and dust will be less easily removed.
