Instead of lemon zest, you can add orange zest.
To bake tender, crumbly cookies, all ingredients must be at room temperature. Lemon cracked cookies are very beautiful with aromatic lemon flavor, and the main ingredient is lemons.
Recipe
Ingredients:
- flour 1.5 cups + 3 tablespoons with top
- butter 125 g
- sugar 100 g
- egg yolks 2 pcs.
- lemon juice 3 tbsp. l.
- zest of 2 lemons
- baking powder 1 tsp.
- starch 1 tbsp. l.
- salt a pinch
- powdered sugar
Preparation:
- In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar and salt with a blender. Add eggs, lemon juice, grated lemon zest. Beat for three to five minutes.
- Add flour sifted with baking powder and starch in parts. Knead into a soft and non-sticky dough. Gather the dough into a ball, wrap in film and place in the refrigerator for an hour.
- Form the dough into walnut-sized balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown.
