On November 21 in Ukraine, believers celebrate the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos (or the Third Most Pure Mother of God).

Read about what you can and absolutely cannot do in the material.

Traditions and customs of the holiday

During the Entry into the Temple of the Virgin Mary, it is customary to read prayers and attend services. On this day, pregnant and childless women pray for a safe birth.

As you know, the Mother of God is considered the patroness of women, so they pray for a happy female destiny.

There is also a tradition of bringing children to church for the first confession in their lives. Spend the holiday properly with your family and friends, and also go somewhere with your child.

Signs of this day

  • It has long been believed that if the weather is good on this day, then the winter will be cold;
  • Snow does not melt all day – for a good harvest next year;
  • If the sky is clear and blue in the morning, it means a rapid cooling;
  • If there is a hard frost, it will last until Christmas;
  • On this day, if a woman comes to visit first, expect failure; if a man, wealth awaits the owners of the house.
