The easiest way to wash tea stains is to use vinegar.

If you love drinking tea, you’ve definitely noticed that dark brown stains remain inside your favorite cup. Over time, they become increasingly difficult to remove. But don’t throw away the mug – there is a way to get rid of stains very quickly.

Tea contains tannins. They are chemical compounds that are present in flowering plants. They usually have a slightly bitter, tart taste. The reason is quite simple – in nature, tannins protect plants from animals. The bitter taste makes it less likely that an animal will eat the plant. But people, on the contrary, enjoy it.

It is these tannins that cause brown spots to appear on the cup. But usually this only happens if you prefer black tea. Because it contains more tannins. Herbal and mint drinks practically do not have them, which is why these drinks do not leave stains.

The easiest way to wash tea stains is to use vinegar. Just pour hot water into a cup, add a little vinegar, stir and leave overnight. The next day, simply wash the dishes and you will see that the stain has disappeared. However, make sure you thoroughly clean the cup of vinegar.

If you don’t have vinegar in your kitchen, don’t worry. It can be replaced with lemon juice. The steps are the same: pour, let sit, clean in the morning.

Baking soda also works well on dark tea stains. Rub the inside of the vessel with soda, wait a few minutes, add water and leave for several hours. Once you wash the mug, the stain will disappear completely.
