“Brilliant House”
Casablitzblanka (translated as “shiny house”) is a special house cleaning system that includes several items. First of all, Germans cannot imagine life without schedules and clear rules. Therefore, before cleaning, they make for themselves a list of the actions that they must perform, as well as in what sequence they will do them.
Remove it immediately
Concealing evidence is one of the main rules of cleaning up the Germans. For example, if you entered the house with dirty shoes after rain, you immediately need to clean them and wash the floor. Or after dinner, dirty dishes do not lie in the sink, but are washed the very minute the family gets up from the table. This rule has a clear logic – there is no need to accumulate dishes and clutter the house.
Room of the day
It is customary for us to set aside one day to do general cleaning throughout the entire house or apartment. The Germans approach this completely differently. They choose a “room of the day” where they will clean today and spend no more than 30 minutes on the process itself. This way you can clean all the rooms one by one.
Daily task
The Germans also create a list of things to do every day. For example, airing a room, watering flowers, etc. Each family determines the schedule that suits it. Also, the Germans wipe dust every day, not only from horizontal surfaces, but also from vertical ones. There are even unique names for different things. For example, “sheep” are additional tasks (for example, removing an oil stain from a kitchen towel), “ducks” are decluttering, “worms” are a task for the little ones.
Do the Germans call for cleaning?
It may seem that with such rules, the Germans certainly do not have to additionally call cleaning professionals. But statistics say quite the opposite: 90% of Germans have called for cleaning at least once in their lives. But most often this is done for general cleaning or cleaning after major repairs. They try to handle all other matters on their own.
