To fight moss on the grass, you can use two life hacks at once.

A problem that often arises is that moss appears on paving slabs or the lawn. It can be quite difficult to fight him. However, you should not give up. TSN.ua tells how to deal with moss on grass and paving stones.

Effective remedy for moss on paving stones and paving slabs

In order not to spend extra money, we suggest using proven folk remedies. They are in no way inferior to store-bought chemicals, but are much safer for health and the plants around you.

When moss appears on cobblestones or paving slabs, it ruins the entire look. However, it is quite possible to cope with this problem. You will need simple sand. First, remove all the moss using gardening tools. Try to pull it out of all the cracks from which it often “breaks through.” Then all these places need to be covered with sand. It will not allow new shoots to sprout, so insidious moss will no longer spoil the paving stones or tiles.

Many gardeners tell how to get rid of moss on concrete. For this, specialists use a long-known grandmother’s method – they prepare a solution of water, soda and salt. Mix soda and salt in equal proportions, pour boiling water over it (so that the mixture is not too thick), and then water all the places where moss grows. In a few days you will be able to see the result – the sprouts will be completely “burned out”.

How to get rid of moss on the lawn

To fight moss on the grass, you can use two life hacks at once. The first is to treat the lawn with iron sulfate. For this:

  • prepare a 5% solution of iron sulfate (500 g required);
  • dilute it in 10 liters of water;
  • treat all areas where moss grows.

It should be borne in mind that iron sulfate “burned out” not only the moss, but also all other plants. It is recommended to process only in dry weather.

Another way is to take dolomite flour. This loose mass of crystals is often used to improve soil quality. However, it is worth noting that dolomite flour will not immediately remove moss from your lawn. In this case, patience is needed. Every year, deoxidize the soil with a substance, adding approximately 500 g per 1 square meter. The procedure is carried out in the fall, but before the onset of frost and the first snow.
