Regular cinnamon is a stimulant that can trigger the flowering of house plants.

In winter, indoor plants need special care. Most of them are in a dormant period, so you need to reduce watering. But only those plants that bloom in winter need fertilizing. It is best to give them homemade fertilizers.

The channel “Home and garden plot” on YouTube writes about how to make fertilizer from cinnamon.

How to make cinnamon fertilizer

“Ordinary cinnamon is a stimulant that can trigger the flowering of house plants. It is also a very strong antiseptic: the plant’s immunity after using cinnamon will be at its best. If you like homemade and safe fertilizer, then you simply need cinnamon. To do this, you need to prepare a solution,” – says the hostess.

To make the solution, you need to take a liter of water, mix it with a tablespoon of cinnamon and leave for 24 hours. After that, pour a tablespoon of this mixture into each pot.

“You just need to take into account that this is a very powerful fertilizer. It cannot be used more than once a month. It is also enough to sprinkle a little cinnamon on the surface of the soil in the pot once a month, literally half a teaspoon. After this, watering is done as usual,” – says the woman.

With cinnamon, plants will be protected from any disease. The same feeding method is suitable for seedlings and plants in the country.

What should watering be in winter?

“Winter is not an easy period for plants. Daylight hours are shortened and plants do not have enough light. They also turn on the heating and therefore the air in the room becomes drier. All these factors have a bad effect on indoor plants,” says the owner.

She notes that most plants have moderate winter moisture needs. These include monstera, palm and citrus fruits.

“They need to be watered when the soil has dried out by about 3 centimeters. And plants such as succulents and cacti need to be watered almost until spring,” says the owner.
