“Fairy’s Kiss”: a recipe for a delicious shortbread dessert with meringue

Tender and melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies with airy meringue “Fairy’s Kiss” are an incredibly delicious dessert and an excellent treat for tea. It is very easy to prepare if you use the recipe from culinary blogger Svetlana Bauer.

Cookies “Fairy’s Kiss”

Ingredients:

  • butter or margarine – 120 g;
  • powdered sugar – 50 g;
  • yolk – 3 pcs;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • flour – about 230 g;
  • baking powder – 0.5 tsp;
  • vanilla sugar – 1 tsp.

For the meringue:

  • protein – 3 pcs;
  • powdered sugar – 140 g;
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp.
  • Toffifee candies for filling.

Cooking method:

  1. Mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt, add yolks, flour and knead the dough. Roll out and cut out circles.
  2. Beat the egg whites with lemon juice and gradually add powdered sugar. Place candy on each mug and meringue on top.
  3. Place the cookies in the oven for 20–25 minutes, preheated to 160 degrees. The finished cookies can be sprinkled with grated chocolate or made with chocolate icing.
