How to get a good night’s rest

Sleep is very important for a person, because it is the key to health.

How to make sure you have a good rest at night, reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to a post by neurologist Evgeniy Skripnik on Facebook.

How to sleep better at night

  • Try to use the bedroom and bed only for sleep and the process that leads to procreation
  • The bedroom should be dark, quiet and cool
  • An hour before bedtime, remove all sources of information: gadgets, turn off the TV, do not read books
  • Go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time (even on the weekend)
  • The minimum duration of sleep should be 7 hours
  • Don’t get enough sleep a day, even if you didn’t sleep well at night
  • If you fell asleep even at 4-5 o’clock in the morning, or woke up at 2-3 o’clock in the morning and did not sleep for several hours, then you still need to wake up in the morning at 6.00-7.00 (when you usually wake up)
  • Temporarily give up coffee and tea completely
  • Take a walk outside before bed
  • If you cannot fall asleep within 20 minutes, get up and go into another room and do household chores (preferably monotonous) and, when you want to sleep again, go to bed. And so several times until you fall asleep
  • If you wake up at night, then do not record the time, that is, do not look at the clock. Return immediately to the other side and try to continue sleeping.
  • Do muscle stretching exercises an hour before bed
