Cooking Christmas adit without yeast: a simple recipe for holiday baking

Stollen is a traditional German Christmas pastry. It is a lush, fragrant cupcake. It can be prepared without yeast and with fermented milk cheese. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with a link to the YouTube channel “Kitchen Yak Relax”. The incredibly rich taste of this pastry is given by a huge amount of raisins, candied fruits, nuts, poppy seeds, marzipan or other dried fruits soaked in aromatic alcohol. And of course this is also due to the long ripening period.

Recipe

Ingredients:

To prepare, prepare the following ingredients:

  • butter – 200 g
  • orange, zest – to your taste
  • lemon, zest – to your taste
  • sugar – 150 g
  • chicken egg – 2 pcs.
  • homemade cheese – 200 g
  • wheat flour – 200 g
  • baking powder – 10 g
  • dried fruit mixture – 450 g

Cooking method

  1. First, add citrus zest to the softened butter and beat with a mixer. After this, add sugar and beat again.
  2. Next, add eggs, cottage cheese, beat until smooth.
  3. Add flour and baking powder, beat the dough first with a mixer, then knead with your hands. Then rinse the dried fruits, sprinkle them with a small amount of flour and mix them evenly into the dough.
  4. The dough needs to be divided into 3 parts and formed into galleries. Place on parchment paper and bake in an oven preheated to 170°C for 40-45 minutes.
  5. Soak the finished hot galleries on both sides with melted butter and generously sprinkle with powdered sugar. Pack in foil and leave for at least 1 day.
