Recipe for making homemade delicacies – candied pumpkin.

To prepare candied pumpkin, it is better to choose sweeter varieties of pumpkin. In this case, you can add less sugar. If the pumpkin is not very sweet, simply add more sugar to suit your taste.

You can cook it either in the oven or in the dryer.

Making candied pumpkin

Ingredients:

  • pumpkin – 1 kg,
  • sugar – 500 g,
  • lemon – 1 pc.,
  • spices as desired.

Preparation:

  1. Peel the pumpkin and cut into pieces no thicker than 0.5 cm.
  2. Cover the cut pumpkin pieces with sugar, you can add spices, mix and leave until the pumpkin releases juice.
  3. Boil the pumpkin for 10 minutes and let cool completely. Then boil again and let cool again.
  4. Add the juice of one lemon and boil for the third time.
  5. Let cool and transfer to a colander to drain all the liquid.
  6. Place the pumpkin on a drying rack or on a baking sheet lined with parchment and dry until tender in the oven at 70 degrees – this is 4-5 hours.
