Christmas log is a traditional log-shaped cake that is served on the holiday table.
Many people include Christmas logs on their holiday menu. We offer you a very simple, but no less tasty recipe. Add a little coffee to the cream and the familiar taste will sparkle with new colors. The recipe was published by the YouTube channel “Tasty Minute”.
Recipe
Ingredients:
- puff pastry – 450 g;
- butter – 400 g;
- condensed milk – 380 g (1 can);
- natural ground coffee – 2 tsp.
Preparation:
- Roll out the defrosted puff pastry and cut it into strips 1.5-2cm wide. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment or a silicone mat. Bake in the oven at 200˚C for about 10-15 minutes.
- Prepare the cream. Beat the softened butter with a mixer, add condensed milk and coffee and beat everything thoroughly again.
- Place cling film in 2-3 layers on a flat surface. Place cream on the film, then 4-5 puff sticks, then cream again, etc. Don’t forget to leave a few sticks for decorating the cake.
- Roll up a tight “roll” and secure the edges well. Refrigerate the cake for at least 12 hours.
- Carefully remove the film. Rub the sticks left for decoration into crumbs with your hands and decorate the cake with it.
- The big advantage of this cake is that it can be made ahead and frozen. After defrosting it will only taste better.
