Apple omelet: a recipe for a quick and delicious fried dessert

Photo: from open sources

A sweet and original dessert that can be easily prepared for breakfast.

Apple Omelette is a quick and easy recipe that comes together in just a few minutes without having to turn on the oven. This is a dessert similar to the Austrian Kaiserschmarrn, from which it differs mainly in the presence of small pieces of fruit in the dough. This dish is ideal for breakfast. Or to finish off a meal. The recipe was shared on Cookist.

Apple omelette

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs;
  • 2 apples;
  • milk – 120 ml;
  • flour – 60 g;
  • powdered sugar – 40 g;
  • raisins – 15 g;
  • lemon, cinnamon, powdered sugar.

Preparation:

  1. Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into slices; then collect them in a bowl, sprinkle with lemon juice and add cinnamon.
  2. Break the eggs into a bowl, add the sugar and beat for a few minutes with an electric whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Season with grated zest of the remaining lemon and pour in the milk.
  4. Add sifted flour. Add raisins. Mix the ingredients well with a whisk. Finally, add the apples and mix again.
  5. Melt a knob of butter in a 20cm non-stick frying pan.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the apples.
  7. Cover with a lid and leave to cook for about 10 minutes over low heat. When the time is up, carefully turn the omelette over using a flat plate and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
  8. Transfer the dessert to a serving plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into slices and serve.
  9. If desired, you can serve the omelette with blueberry jam or a dollop of crème anglaise, or season it with a splash of rum before cooking.
  10. Alternatively, you can also cook the omelette in the oven: in this case, we suggest lining the tin with a well-oiled sheet of baking paper and baking the dessert at 200°C, covered, for about 20 minutes.
